Dr. Michael Rosen Continues the Family Passion for Optometry

Dr. Michael Rosen of Scarsdale, New York, wanted to be an optometrist like his father. He attended Lehigh University, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he received a BA in neuroscience in 1994, graduating with honors. After graduation, he decided to attended the State University of New York’s College of Optometry, where he graduated in 1998. He immediately went to work in his father’s shop, the Eye Gallery of Scarsdale.

A passion for optometry ran in the Rosen family. Optometry is essential for early detection and treatment of eye related disorders. Sight is one of the most precious senses humans have, and the Rosens knew they could provide a much needed service. Optometrist must straddle the line between science and art. The first line of defense in sight is optometry, and identifying, correcting, and monitoring vision changes through a persons life is an obligation from the doctor to the patient. From the initial eye exam to the diagnostic determination and treatment, the doctor patient relationship is, from the outset, a close knit one. The obligation of the doctor to identify and treat vision in the early detection stages can be the difference between sight and blurs.

With thousands of optometrists and vision service practices, it is actually a challenging vertical to enter. A business needs to set itself apart, and in 1979 Dr. Jay Rosen decided to elevate the optometrist and eyewear idea. When he first opened the doors of the practice, Dr. Rosen began decided to combine his medical background with the art of eyewear. Thus, the Eye Gallery of Scarsdale opened in the downtown village.

Dr. Michael Rosen has an extensive history of nearly two decades of doctor and patient relationships. His many repeat clients continue coming back because of the excellent service he provides. Careful examinations and adjustments assure his patients they will be able to see as best as possible. The practice has grown, expanded and opened a second location based on the commitment to client service to ensure everyone’s eyesight is top notch.

When Dr. Michael Rosen entered the family business, he joined an established practice. The challenge of expansion fell squarely on his shoulders, and he rose to the call. His love of optometry combined with his business savvy assures the Scarsdale and Chappaqua community will be provided with exemplary service for many more decades to come.

Dr. Michael Rosen – Taking Care of Your Vision: Choosing Contacts or Eyeglasses

For Dr. Michael Rosen of the Eye Gallery, taking care of your vision is a task that he takes extremely seriously. According to the report for the 2014 National Health Interview Survey, 22.5 million American adults age 18 and older report experiencing some kind of vision loss. This group ranged from individuals who reported having trouble seeing, even when wearing glasses or contact lenses, as well as to individuals who said they were blind or couldn’t see at all.

Vision is one of our most important senses, which is why Dr. Michael Rosen and his father, Dr. Jay Rosen, have spent the past decades of their careers helping patients in New York find adequate solutions for vision correction. At the Eye Gallery, both doctors perform highly comprehensive eye examinations to determine the capacity and overall health of your eyes. During part of the exam, your vision will be measured to check for any problems with eyesight. This includes assessing your distance vision, your near vision, and your intermediate vision. If it is determined that your vision needs some correcting, you will then have the option between choosing eyeglasses or contact lenses – but which is better for you?

Overall, the decision to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses for vision correction mostly depends on personal preferences, which is why Dr. Michael Rosen offers personalized optometry care to keep your eyes sharp. However, other factors should also be considered, including lifestyle, comfort, convenience, budget, and aesthetics. One is not necessarily better than the other, but both do have very different advantages and disadvantages in terms of vision, ease of use, and eye health.

For instance, glasses offer many benefits over contact lenses because they require very little cleaning and maintenance, and you don’t have to touch your eyes to wear them, which can increase your risk for eye infections. Glasses are also cheaper than contact lenses because they don’t have to be replaced as often, and they are also a great way to make a fashion statement. At the Eye Gallery, Dr. Michael Rosen offers hundreds of styles of exclusive, high-end designer eyewear options.

On the other hand, contact lenses sit directly on your eye, so vision, particularly peripheral vision, is completely unobstructed. You can participate in sports and other outdoor activities without fear of losing or breaking them, and you can even change the color of your eyes with colored contact lenses. Contacts are also not typically affected by weather conditions, and some can even reshape your cornea while you sleep. Whichever you choose, Dr. Michael Rosen will make sure that you get the prescription you need to keep your vision as sharp as possible.

Michael Rosen – Finding the Right Eye Wear

The father-son team evolved the former Scarsdale Eye Care into what is today known as the Eye Gallery of Scarsdale. Dr. Jay Rosen initially established Scarsdale Eye Care in 1979. It started out as just a small optometry clinic in the center of downtown Scarsdale, New York. The company was built on the ideals of exceptional personal care and customer service, which is why this small practice would quickly grow into what it is now today. In 1998, Dr. Michael Rosen decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and joined the optometry practice. Only a few years later the duo decided that it was time to expand in order to meet the needs of their growing client list. Now each and every patient receives comprehensive eye examinations, which include, eye disease detection and treatment, extensive collection of top quality eyewear to choose from, that are effective and stylish. The eyewear collection at The Eye Gallery of Scarsdale specifically consists of around 29 different designer frames, including such high-end brands as Barton Perriera, Thierry Lasry, Salt Optics, Dior, Celine and Chanel, providing their clients with a ton of options.

Finding the right eye wear can often be challenging especially in a place like the Eye Gallery of Scarsdale, simply because there are just too many options to choose from. What can make this process easier is by considering a few things such as your face shape, skin tone, comfort, and so forth. The thing is every one wants to find a pair of glasses that makes them looks good and that are flattering. The three points to consider when determining the right eye wear for you are that the glasses you choose should highlight your best feature, the shape of the frame should be the opposite of your face shape, and finally the size of the frame needs to fit the size of your face.

The main face shapes are: oval, base-up triangle, oblong, square, diamond, and round. So remember the pair of glasses that will be most flattering for your face shape, is the pair that will have a frame that is the opposite of the shape of your face. For example if you have a round face, you would want to choose frames that are squared and have straight lines because if you choose round frames you will just make your face appear wider. Choosing the right frame shape is probably the most important aspect to consider, because the wrong shape can end up accentuating things that you do not want to accentuate.

Dr. Michael Rosen – Eye Health as an Important Indicator Of Overall Health

Most Americans don’t visit their optometrist nearly as much as they should. Often viewed as secondary to other health concerns, the majority of people only visit their optometrist when a specific problem presents itself, which is usually not very often. However, visiting your optometrist regularly is a crucial part of maintaining you overall health. We’ve all heard that the eyes are the windows to the soul, but did you know that they are also one of the first places to look for signs of problems elsewhere in your body?

Eyes are medically unique in the sense that they are the only place in the body through which veins and arteries can be seen firsthand without surgery or cameras. This is why eye doctors are often the first to detect serious health problems in patients, including diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol. But finding a reliable, quality-service optometrist can be a lot more difficult than one might think. This is why the professionals at Eye Gallery have committed themselves to providing their patients with the highest level of optometry care available in the industry.

Eye Gallery was founded by Dr. Jay Rosen in 1979 as a small optometry practice in the heart of downtown Scarsdale, New York. A New York native, Dr. Jay Rosen attended Queens College and The New England College of Optometry. He also served in the United States Air Force, but after retiring he decided to move to Westchester County and pursue optometry.

In 1998 Dr. Jay Rosen’s son, Dr. Michael Rosen, joined the practice. The former’s years of experience in the optometry field, coupled with his son’s expert knowledge of the most innovative and current technologies and practices in optometry today enabled the business to grow exponentially. After doubling the size of their office space in Scarsdale, Eye Gallery also opened a second location in Chappaqua. In both locations, the Rosen doctors continue to exceed expectations and deliver courteous, personalized, and comprehensive care to each and every one of their patients. Whether you have a particular problem that’s bothering you, or you simply haven’t gotten a standard eye checkup in awhile, Dr. Michael Rosen and his colleagues are more than happy to help you with your optometry needs.

Despite popular belief, seeing the eye doctor is a critical part of making sure everything within your body is functioning properly. Don’t risk your health – call Eye Gallery and schedule an appointment today!

Dr. Michael Rosen – Raising the Standard of Optometry Care

It is easy to forget that being born with good eyesight is a gift that many people in the world do not have the privilege to experience. Still, like many parts of our bodies, eyesight too can deteriorate over time. To make sure our eyes remain healthy throughout our lives, it is vitally important to have them examined periodically by a qualified optometrist.

Eye Gallery is a comprehensive optometrist office that has convenient locations in both Scarsdale and Chappaqua, New York. Established in 1979 by Dr. Jay Rosen, the Eye Gallery of Scarsdale began as a small-scale optometry practice in the heart of Scarsdale Village. Since then, Eye Gallery has been providing patients with the highest standard of optometry care. In 1998, Dr. Jay Rosen’s son, Dr. Michael Rosen, joined the practice. As a family effort, Eye Gallery has continued to grow and thrive in the field of optometry by staying up-to-date on technological developments and techniques to ensure that all patients receive the finest care available.

In the spring of 2000, Eye Gallery’s success enabled them to double their office space, making them a central component of Scarsdale Village. A few years later in 2007, Eye Gallery opened a second location in the downtown village of Chappaqua, New York. To continue their legacy of unbeatable care and service, Dr. Jay Rosen and Dr. Michael Rosen agreed to bring on a new partner, Dr. Chris Gentile. With years of experience and a vast knowledge of the delicate intricacies of optometry, Dr. Gentile’s presence greatly contributed to the continuation of Eye Gallery’s top-notch service.

What really sets Eye Gallery a part from other optometry practices is there commitment to customer service. Dr. Gentile and Dr. Jay Rosen and his son all know that taking time out of your busy schedule to get an eye checkup can sometimes be a frustrating and arduous task. This is why all three doctors, along with their courteous, friendly staff, are dedicated to making sure your optometry experience is as enjoyable as possible, from the moment you step through their doors, to the moment you leave. All patients at Eye Gallery receive skilled, comprehensive eye examinations that are essential to identifying potentially threatening eye diseases, along with the expert treatment needed to fix these problems. In addition, Eye Gallery provides their patients with the most exclusive, high-end choice of eyeglasses sunglasses available on the market. At Eye Gallery, you are the focus.
